Why Kinky Bottoms Stop Bruising From Spankings

A lot of us spankees wear bruises from our play partners like jewelry. Marks can be a point of pride or bring about fond memories of intense, intimate moments. We enjoy watching them heal, marveling at the resilient powers of the human body. For these reasons and more, we’re often disappointed when our kinky butts mysteriously stop bruising.

If you get spanked or engage in ‘impact play’ regularly, you may notice fewer marks over time, even after hard sessions. At this point, my butt won’t produce much color beyond a bright pink glow, and not for lack of trying. It didn’t use to be this way, but I am not concerned, for this is normal. There’s a scientific process afoot! 🧐

(Spoiler alert: I'm not a doctor. I've just read a lot of things and been spanked a whole bunch.)

How the Body Adapts to Spanking

When the body sustains hard impact, tiny blood vessels under the surface of the skin, known as capillaries, burst and leak blood into the surrounding tissues. This is where bruises come from. Some kink experts propose that repeated impact to the same area of the body may cause the most fragile capillaries to break and not regrow. This leaves a more resilient capillary network that’s less prone to rupture, as capillaries that heal properly grow back stronger each time. This means subsequent impact to the same area of skin may cause less widespread subdermal bleeding and smaller, fainter bruises.

Regular impact can also train the body to increase its capacity for repair. This means spankees who play regularly may heal more quickly and efficiently than those who get spanked less often. Affected tissues can become thicker and more resilient, including tissues that support and surround the strengthened capillary network, which may protect those vessels from breaking. After frequent sessions, some spankees lose their ability to mark entirely, and these effects can be long-lasting or even permanent.

The presence or absence of bruising after a spanking isn’t an accurate reflection of the amount of force that was used. Even as our butts become accustomed to impact, we can still feel the sensation of pain at its full intensity. It’s also important to note that an inability to bruise doesn’t imply invincibility. We’re just as vulnerable to injury whether we’ve played once or a million times.

Other Factors That Affect Bruising

Bodies don’t function identically. Despite the tendency of bottoms to toughen up over time, a number of factors beyond experience influence how a person bruises.

  • Age: Older people tend to bruise more easily due to thinner skin and less resilient blood vessels.

  • Nutrition: Vitamins C, K, B12, and D deficiencies can all contribute to increased bruising.

  • Medications: Some medications, particularly blood thinners, can also increase bruising.

  • Technique: The type of implement, the angle of impact, and the amount of force during a spanking all play a role in bruising.

Maintaining healthy, supple, well-moisturized skin can help our butts absorb impact better. Adding lotion to your aftercare routine is a great way to fortify your ass for long-term play while keeping it soft and smooth.

Obnoxious bros on the internet love to comment, “Spank harder!” when they see a post-spanking pic of an unbruised butt. Those bros are fools, for a lack of marks signifies nothing in particular about a spanker or spankee. The most important measure of success is whether we and our partners are having fun.

Enjoy the glow.
